We live in a “Netflix and Chill” society where binge-watching, whether by ourselves or with friends, is our new normal. But with so many options out there, how do we know where to turn and what shows are worth our time?
We’ve compiled a list of some of the most binge-watchable shows out there. If you’ve got time on your hands, turn these on and spend a lazy day catching up on the couch.
Queer Eye: We’re in Japan!
This particular season of Queer Eye brings the fab five across the world to Japan. As they navigate cultural differences and help people find their most unique, fashionable selves, you might shed a tear or two.
There are only four long episodes. But the good news is, there are other Queer Eye seasons if you haven’t already started watching.
Game of Thrones
Late to the GoT bandwagon? Now is the time to get caught up on the episodes. With the hype done and the full series available to binge in one go, what could be better? A battle between the fictional lands of Westeros and Essos, there is a ton of action, lots of tragedy, and even more death. If you don’t mind a little darkness, get started immediately.
Insecure
If you like a little bit of exploration in your binge shows, check out Insecure. Issa and her friends roam all over Los Angeles to entertain themselves and those on their couches alone. From wine tasting to a trip to the California African American Museum, you get to explore LA right along with these funny, feisty, exciting women.
Chef’s Table
For fans of cooking shows and competitions, Netflix brings you the Chef’s Table. Travel all over the world to meet chefs that are working hard to bring artistry and a revolution of taste to their customers. Not only is this show beautifully shot, but it will inspire you to get a taste of every city you plan to visit in the future.
Anne with an E
If you were a fan of Anne of Green Gables growing up, it’s time to check out this new show. Set in the 19th-century in a fictional village, it follows the storyline of the beloved series. Plus, it’s a coming of age story about a woman who is fearless in the face of what she wants to accomplish. And honestly, we could all use more of that.
Salt Fat Acid Heat
Another excellent cooking show courtesy of Netflix, Salt Fat Acid Heat, will inspire exploration and wanderlust. Each episode heads to a different area of the world to explore their cooking essentials and traditions. From how parmesan cheese is cultivated in Italy to handmade soy sauce in Japan, it’s a learning and eating experience.
We are always looking for something to take up those long, lazy Saturdays when we have nothing to do. If watching full seasons in one sitting is your thing, these are great shows to get started on. Good luck!
