Harem is a genre of anime and manga wherein the main protagonist is surrounded by members of the opposite sex or love interests.

This series is so much like Rosario + Vampire. Kohei Hasekura, the male protagonist, is transferred to an esteemed school named Shuchikan Academy. He’s unable to make many friends as he’s into frequent transferring of schools. But this time, he intends on staying for longer. He soon meets a girl named Erika Sendo, who ensues to be a vampire. She has this charismatic personality and a straightforward approach to everything. What happens between these two is why you gotta watch this series!

This is a story of Tomoki Sakurai, who believes in leading a peaceful life, and Ikaros, who is a winged female humanoid (Unidentified Mysterious Animal, as they call it). This melancholic, expressionless female starts developing romantic feelings for her master, Tomoki. Other creatures called ‘Angeloids’ also land on Earth, adding elements (that are nowhere close to peace and quietness) to Tomoki’s life. This series is no short of fan service!

The story starts with the male lead, Rito Yūki, who is unable to confess his feelings to his crush, Haruna Sairenji. Disappointed, wearied, he’s all sulked in his bathtub after he’s home from school, when he happens to notice a mystic, nude girl named Lala. She’s an alien from a planet called Deviluke. She wants to marry Rito to escape from marrying any of the candidates found by her dad. The Emperor promises to accept Rito if he’s able to defeat other fiancés and protect Lala, else he would kill Rito and destroy the world.

While the other Rosaria + Vampire alternatives featured a male protagonist grabbing the attention of women, this anime boasts a female lead, Yuki Cross, who enjoys the attention of many guys. Yuki was attacked by a rogue vampire and rescued by a Pureblood vampire, Kaname Kuran. The story takes a leap of 10 years, where they have shown her to be the adopted child of Kaien Cross, who is in love with her savior Kaname. She digs deeper into her past and finds her to be a Pureblood princess. The anime has an ample of vampire and other supernatural stuff.

Omamori Himari is the story of an orphan guy, Yuto Amakawa. His parents passed away in a car accident, leaving him no relative; just a mysterious amulet given by his late grandma. Ever since then, he lives under the care of Rinko Kuzaki, who happens to be his childhood friend. His life takes a drastic turn when he meets a cat demon girl named Himari on his 16^th birthday. Yuto is allergic to cats, whereas this cat-women has promised to save Tuto from the demons. Later on, a few more girls enter the picture, who own a liking in him. This alternative also has a good dose of fan service.

If you like vampires and all supernatural things, then count Chibi Vampire in your list. As we know, vampires suck blood from humans, but this anime has an interesting twist. The little girl of this vampire family doesn’t feed on blood, but contrastingly produces excess blood, which is actually abashing. In fact, she leads a life like any ordinary teenager girl would. Things were going well, until she happens to meet this new transfer guy in her class, named Kenta Usui. The closer they get, the higher her blood levels would rise. Let’s see what happens when they start developing feelings for each other …

Yoohoo! We have zombie stuff in here too. A necromancer resurrects a dead boy named Ayumu Aikawa, making him a zombie. He wants to make the most of this undead life, and hence, enjoys it to the fullest. One fine day, a magical girl named Haruna lands in his life when he unwittingly acquires her magic, and is made to become a Masō-Shōjo. Overall, this anime has a good stock of humor, romance, comedy, and of course, zombies!
